Hello there! We are Carlos and Joley. Fourteen years ago, Carlos begrudgingly walked into a CrossFit box expecting to hate it with Joley tagging along. On the drive home he admitted, “Okay, that was awesome!” Soon, our teenage boys, Holden and Trae joined us (which by the way, is a phenomenal way to stay connected to your teenagers). Quite unexpectedly, CrossFit made a profound impact on our lives. After decades of trying to run away the not so slender thighs, Joley began appreciating her strong and powerful legs and marveled at what they were capable of. Carlos discovered that after a life long battle with depression, CrossFit miraculously contributed to the fight. Not only have we gained a healthier perspective on fitness, nutrition, and health-we have gained quite a community family that we greatly cherish.

Over the years, we’ve witnessed the innumerable transformations CrossFit has produced in the bodies, mind and spirit of those whom we care deeply about. After 5 years of CrossFitting, Carlos got his Level 1 Certificate and enthusiastically began coaching. Joley soon followed getting her Level 1, as well. So now, after 20 years in law enforcement for Carlos and 30 years teaching for Joley, we have decided to pursue this passion of ours. We believe that with all life’s obstacles, fitness is an essential and we would be honored to travel with you on your strengthening journey with whatever capacity you need strengthening in (building an Indestructible body and mind). We look forward to being part of your story.

I was first introduced to CrossFit in college when playing Division 1 soccer. My strength and conditioning coach was Josh Everett, a legends in the Sport, and I did NOT like anything about CrossFit during that time. It wasn’t until I graduated that I realized how much I DID enjoy CrossFit and needed to find a box.

14 years later and I still wholeheartedly believe in the CrossFit methodology. CrossFit is my passion. It’s so much of who I am. I absolutely love being an athlete but more importantly; I LOVE coaching! It’s not just about coaching classes, but more of leading by example and supporting our members in and out of the gym. To guide our pregnant and postpartum mamas with knowledge and modifications when needed. And to be the faithful leader of our CrossFit Kids by showing them that it’s fun to go to the gym, move our bodies and be strong!!!

Certifications: CrossFit Level 1 Coach, CrossFit Kids Coach, Masters Degree in Teaching, Certified Pregnant and Postpartum Athleticism Coach

“I became a coach because I fell in love with the process of CrossFit. I wanted to share my knowledge and passion with others to help them become the best version of themselves. CrossFit not only trains your physical being, but it tests your mental capacity and pushes you to your limits.”

A friend brought me to my first crossfit box without telling me where we were going. Upon walking in, I felt like a fish out of water and I wondered why she would bring me there… but she said “let’s just try it”, so I did! I couldn’t do hardly anything. I laughed when I saw the WOD on the board and I said out loud “there’s no way I can do that”.  But every person there told me “yes you can! You got this!” I was cheered on, high fived, and encouraged, and by the time I left that day I knew I HAD to do it again.  It was the hardest thing I had done, and the feelings I had of accomplishment and belonging were so strong that I couldn’t ignore them.  About two years in, a newer member asked me to take the L-1 course with her and without hesitation I said yes.. it only enhanced my love for crossfit and the hunger for knowledge grew immensely.  5 years after that, I took the L-2 course, several months later I became certified in weightlifting.  So now, 8 years and some change in, my love for crossfit and the community still hasn’t changed, and it never will for me.

I’ve been doing CrossFit since 2015 and coaching since 2016. I have had a passion for fitness since I was a freshman in high school beginning to prepare for football. I loved that the more I worked in the weight room, the more I had an advantage on the field. I also loved having the ability to set goals for myself and break them. When I began to notice that-I not only loved seeing my results but seeing others in the weight room improve- that’s when coaching became something I thought I could do as a job. I found that CrossFit was the best way I could push people who wanted to make a difference in their life. I get the same enjoyment watching a college athlete hit a 500 pound back squat as watching a 60 year old woman be able to finally squat to a box without pain. This is the best way that I can share my love and passion for fitness with everyone.

Certifications: Bachelors of Arts in Kinesiology, CrossFit Level 1 Coach

Coach Kristyn

Kristyn Eysie

Hi, I’m Coach Kristyn. I like to think I’m better know as the coach with the fun Saturday warm-ups that get a little too competitive! My CrossFit journey started in Fall of 2016, 4 months post partum with our first daughter. I was scared (scratch that terrified) and actually watched my first class and immediately determined I couldn’t even complete the warm up. I couldn’t do a push up, a sit up, a pull up, but boy could I run! CrossFit took a girl who loved to run to decompress stress, to a girl who loves to lift (and heavy!) My love to coach came from paying it forward to new members, just like my coaches had done for me. CrossFit is for everyone, and I wanted to help prove that and give back to the community who made me stronger, both mentally and physically.
